Laboratorium Silencii
The multimedia installation Laboratorium Silencii was presented in the Czech pavilion at EXPO 2015. Its essence responds to the human need to be present in nature. The result is a complex image of a forest where living nature combines with technology and offers visitors a unique aesthetic and emotional experience in addition to knowledge and relaxation.
The Laboratory of Silence evokes the contemplative atmosphere of the bohemian forest and, with the help of advanced technologies, reveals the mysteries of the plant world as a new, augmented reality. In addition to live plants, the futuristic laboratory also includes projection surfaces and a camera system. The latter is partly controlled by visitors and allows them, among other things, to look into the otherwise invisible world of plant cells. The system is not only an original spectacle into a living ecosystem, but also collects data for the subsequent scientific work of botanists. In addition to its main goal – to present the forest as an important place of spiritual rest – the installation also aims to give visitors an attractive and accessible scientific view of the Czech forest ecosystem.
